Curriculum
~ |
|
Watch for future
publicity with the exact class titles and
descriptions. Classes will cover every aspect of
quartet singing from vocal to visual, from selecting
music to selecting a coach, from beginning to
winning!
You will learn
specific techniques for developing your voice and
singing your voice part, building championship
skills, making the most of a coaching session,
figuring out what the arranger intended, getting
better scores, and having a successful competition
experience.
You will also have
the opportunity to interact with, and ask questions
of, the International Champion Quartet that serves
as faculty.
Here’s your
opportunity to learn from those who have Been
There, Done That!
Queens’ College
only comes along once every four years....don’t miss
out! |

Coaching
Appointments
~ |
|
The Registration
Form asks quartets to indicate their preferred
time. Past experience tells us that most quartets
want Saturday afternoon. Those appointments are
filled with the first nine quartets to request that
time slot, so if that’s your preference you need to
register at least six months ahead.
Coaching begins
Friday evening at 7:15 p.m. and continues through
Sunday morning. |

~ WHAT DO WE
GET? ~ |
|
In
addition to a full schedule of classes prepared and
taught by the faculty, each quartet or individual
who registers by the deadline (30 days before each
college) will receive music to a Marge Bailey
arrangement of Up, Up and Away, a part tape
made by The Buzz (individual members, be sure to
specify the part you sing), and any handouts used in
the classes
Registrants
may also observe any of the coaching sessions to
watch the faculty in action and perhaps pick up some
hints for application to their own coaching or
teaching experiences. |
|
~ REGISTRATION FEES
~ |
|
Registration fee for quartets, which includes a
90-minute coaching
session with one of
the faculty members, is $200.00.
Registration fee for
chorus directors, quartet coaches, interested
members, or those aspiring “wannabees”–in short, for
everyone else–is
$75.00.
Registration fees
may be transferred, but are not refundable. Several
of the past Queens Colleges have been oversold and
late registrants have been placed on a waiting
list. Avoid this by
registering early.
Attendance at each location is limited to 50
quartets and 50 individual registrants.
Queens College is
not a money-making project for the Coronet Club.
In fact, it’s a way for the Coronet Club to fulfill
its commitment to quartet promotion and education.
Registration fees are used to help defray the cost
of faculty travel, housing, meeting room rental,
materials, and other administrative expenses, but
the Coronet Club contributes an equal amount from
its education fund to sponsor this event.

~ FACULTY
~ |

Each location
features three Coronet Club International Faculty
Members, Judges, or Arrangers, an International
Champion Quartet, and an on-site facilities

each location as on-site coordinators. |
